Sony Xperia Go now available in India for Rs 18,799

Global consumer electronics giant, Sony had announced the launch of its Xperia Go Android smartphone back in the month of May earlier this year. Although it has yet to be made available officially here in India, the Xperia Go is now available from online retailer Infibeam for Rs 18,799.

Featuring rugged design, durability and water resistance qualities, the Xperia Go comes with a scratch resistant mineral glass displays and meets industry standard IP (Ingress Protection) rating 67 to fight off dust and the effects of water immersion as well.

The device can also be submerged under water for up to 10 minutes without damaging the internals of the Xperia Go. The Xperia Go comes with a wet finger tracking system that allows it to be used in extreme weather conditions as well.

The Sony Xperia Go features a 3.5-inch reality display with a 320 x 480 pixels and has up to four point sensitive touch input system. The Xperia Go is based on older Android Gingerbread operating system but the company promises the Android Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade in the time to come.

The Sony Xperia Go comes with 5 megapixel main camera but misses out on a front camera, so no video calling. It is powered by a 1 GHz dual core processor along with 512 MB of RAM and 8 GB onboard memory for smooth operations.
