Over time I have noticed that mainstream music has become less talented over time, without a doubt. The music that MTV and radio stations play constantly are becoming degrading to the name that music once had not too long ago. Bands such as Van Halen, Led Zeppelin, and even rap groups like Run DMC had talent. Some rap groups even worked with rock bands, such as the duo of ?Walk This Way? by Aerosmith and Run DMC.

Nowadays I personally hear rap crowding the radio stations. At school, or just driving from point A to point B I hear rap blasting from other cars radio systems in uncomfortable amounts. Yes, I do hear rock and other different genres of music being played, but rap is definitly the most overplayed genre of music I have heard being played by not only radio stations and other sources of music, but by my peers, and by even people younger and older than me.

It does infact get a lot worse. Rap, over time, must have been rotting away. The talent associated with rap and hip-hop music is slim to none, depending on which artist you are talking about. The most mainstream rap and hip-hop artists these days are repetitive in their songs, and also contain simple beats than a child can cook up by playing with some of its toys.

Rock has disintegrated in talent over time as well. I can still hear some talent being played, but it is hardly on the radio stations or on MTV. To hear true musical talent you have to either go back in time, or buy CD?s. I generally find that buying CD?s is easier since time machines haven?t been created yet. There are some lively bands out there with talent, but they are hardly ever played by the radio or MTV. Also, the amount of genre?s has increased dramatically to my knowlege in the field of rock. For what reason? I truly don? t know, but it is definitly unnecessary. Such genre?s that have been created such as ?emo? and ?hardcore? aren?t needed, and even more genre?s are created for no apparent reason other than to draw attention to some certain bands for trying to be original and creating their own genre which is truely either a mixture of two or more already acclaimed music genre?s, or just small manipulations to already alive rock genre?s.

Is the music industry even trying anymore? Has good music been demolished for good? It is hard to find good and talented musix these days since the only things playing on the radio and MTV are the types of music that are explained in the above paragraphs.

For such a perfect source of entertainment and expression to go to waste for lack of talent just to make something called ?money?. What ever happened to dignity and true passion of music. What ever happened to making music that made you feel good and worhwhile rather than listening to crappy music in which the artists simply don?t care about, and just produce in a few minutes to sell to stupid teenagers since they think it is cool.

A lot of todays music has also been associated with sexual relevance. This is another reason that even though the music is truly horrid, it sells. Sex simply sells to most of the public, especially teenagers whom hormones are raging and out of control. With the addition of musical beats that are slow and on que, it all is set right to be linked to sexual desire. The lyrics are definitly the topping to the cake though, that even have gone as far as to include moaning from the singer and/or background singers.

So, has the music industry lowered its standards in terms of quality of music for mere marketing and greed? I think so. But if I could, I would love to have the talented artists back where they belong, in the mainstream.

A study conducted in 2011 by the Outdoor Industry Association has revealed that young people enjoy hiking a lot more than many folks, especially their parents, might guess.
